Sheldon Senior - Love is the Key!!

Love is the key!
A woman from Denmark and a man from Jamaica found each other in their shared passion for music and their desire to contribute to a better world according to Danish Music and Entertainment Manager Joan Vedel “I have spent 2 years working with an artist from the other side of the earth. I found joy and love in his music. His name is Sheldon Senior, and he is from Jamaica. Over this period of time I have put together 50 concerts with him in Europe, and he has performed all with great success. Together we collaborate to promote his recordings worldwide, and people have found and expressed joy in experiencing his music.
Our mission is to also use some proceeds from the music to help developing countries in Africa, the Caribbean and Central America. Sheldon Senior’s performance and presentation on stage has been hailed by many fans as being special and very professional, as he never fails to delight the audiences and touch them with the love and positive messages in his music. After his concert performance for the Copenhagen Carnival in Aalborg 2009 the press wrote:
"The audience at Ã…lborg experienced the best summer reggae stage show ever with Sheldon Senior. The energy level was very high as of the very first song, which had the 100,000 crowd swaying their hands in the air and dancing. Sheldon a Talented entertainer, his show was so dynamic on stage. He reaching his audience with his enthusiastic and positive vibes, he made the place buzzing with excitement. It was like little Jamaica in Aalborg with Sheldon belting out some of the best music from Jamaica, and it was a lovely reminder of Bob Marley.”

“To experience so many Danes forget everyday worries for a while and dance, was a great moment of inspiration and brought great strength to my mission and purpose in music” says Ms. Vedel.

The journey for Sheldon and Joan Vedel has been possible through the help of several persons, some of whom have volunteered their time and expertise as part of a global team and family working from the heart to promote positive music worldwide. The team is driven by the belief that through music they can make people happy and bring them love, and sees love and happiness as the best prevention against adversity. Joan Vedel says her aim and that of her artist is to make a difference in the world through music, as theycontinue to collaborate with music producers from different countries. So far they have recorded several great songs with strong messages, such as “Wall Of Shame” produced by Danish producer Pharfar and remixed by Kenneth Bager, and “What About Love” produced by Jet Star records in London and " Here I am " produced by Golden records Jamaica, and Road life riddem produced by Born free Germany

Sheldon Senior Skanderborg Festival 2011

Sheldon comes to the world of music from a very humble and simple family in the countryside of Mandeville, Jamaica. He does not drink or smoke, and prays with his band before and after every concert performance, which he says brings the right energy to give the audience a wonderful experience through music. The feeling of love and simple beauty forever shines through the musical performances of Sheldon, who is the son of a true Jamaican Rastaman.

“My visit to Sheldon’s home in Mandeville, Jamaica brought me into contact with his family’s happy and humble lifestyle, where they are forever thankful for the little that they have” says Joan that comes from a little village at the country site in Denmark, and she is the grosseries daughter number 3....very different cultures meet throug internet and love to the music and mission is the key

This lifestyle of simplicity, love, and always giving thanks, is captured and delivered in Sheldon’s musical performances as he interacts with members of his audience, encouraging with positive messages to help deal with their troubles in life.

In her work as manager for Sheldon, Joan Vedel is supported and guided by her music attorney and business consultant Lloyd Stanbury, an experienced Jamaican who operates from a base in Florida USA. “I knew from the start in the music business, that it wasimportant to set the business on a professional path with expert guidance. There are many stories in the industry about managers and artists having disputes and ending their relationships, usually at the time when the artist has started to see some success after working with the manager for a while. I have learned to appreciate how important it is to have and understand contracts in the music business, and the absolute necessity for guidance from an entertainment lawyer with experience and knowledge of the business, and who is also familiar with how artists operate and think. My lawyer has been a very big motivator for me, and I am deeply grateful for his help and guidance. He also is on a mission in the music business where he want to educate and support upcoming artists, and he do a lot of charity for the reggae growth in Jamaica. I would strongly recommend to everyone entering the business of music that they engage the services of an attorney from the very start

www.Lloydstanbury.com

The greatest desire of Joan and Sheldon is to take the music to poor communities by giving concerts to people who have never had the chance to see a professional concert. They believe that the right music can give hope and can be better than medicine. There is an understanding between Joan and Sheldon that for every five shows they book and perform, they will give one charity concert. Their plan is to keep working hard at producing and performing, and if the Grammys or other music awards come their way, this would be more than welcomed.

Charitywork in Africa

“I personally also hope that more people would do what they can to help the many good talents around the world that never get the chance to come out with their music because they live in difficult conditions”, says Joan. For support the mission you can contact Joan Vedel helping organnisation .Joan_vedel@hotmail.com and be part of the world team family, or support in other ways..Just it comes from the heart.

Let’s stay together and it will be alright!!
Blessed love, light and unity.

Who Is PASHA ? Nigeria' Best Dancehall Artiste!!!

Pasha as derived from the title of a Turkish Monarch is Mfon Harold Okona from Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Born and raised in Ojo, Lagos State to a family of six, he got exposed to music at a juvenile age from his elder brother Def Kelly a recording artiste, who not only influenced his love for music not just as a passive listener but towards a career path.

He took up the mantle of professional music at the age of fifteen with a six man hip hop crew called G- Fellaz. They went on to record some songs and amassed a few fan base, but the rail road of music had much better plans for him. He bolted out to start a solo career, not after he took time off to properly groomed himself as a reggae dance hall artiste and analyze the prevailing trends in the music industry.
In the course of his activities he hooked up with Micworx Music and has ever since been expulsing various arsenal of music materials in various genres.. In other to build further anticipation and offer the world a foretaste of what he and his music is about, on the 4th of October 2010 he dropped the 1st Nigerian Dancehall mixtape self titled “I am Pasha” an event which was covered on satellite TV.
The mixtape project was well flavored with free styles, eccentric dancehall version of popular Nigerian sounds and Jamaican Riddims with of course productions from Micworx Music. Artiste getting credits for collaborative efforts are Jonah the Monarch, General Pype, Eva, Dramin, Smyl, amongst others. The project went on from being a foretaste to a full course meal as everyone who had an opportunity of getting a copy or a chance of hearing it home and abroad, had nothing but commendations to give, they couldn’t help but wonder what his album would eventually sound like.
Among several tracks on the mixtape, the song “Daggera” and “I can Hold Yu” a Dj’s favorite, is fast becoming a massive hit, as it enjoys robust rotation on radio station across some parts of the country and even outside its’ shores, on various musical websites and blogs, this has earned him guest performances at numerous clubs and events. But much should be anticipated from this essentric performer who has embarked on preparations for his solo debut to be realeased sometime within the year 2012.

With influence like Coolie buddz, Def Kelly, Sean Paul, Mavado, Vybz Kartel, Matisyahu, Super Cat, Sizzla, Ruffman and Tuface; it immensely formulated and strengthened his genre of music which is Reggae Dancehall, this also is fused with Pop, African, Electronic and other world styles to attain a distinct rhythm beyond any cultural bounds. Sit tight and listen as the Pashian Evolution unfolds because his harmony is way bloodier than gladiators in the fictional series of Spartacus.

Zimdancehall Ambassodor gets Close and Personal with Qounfuzed Rising Reggae Dancehall Artiste from Zimbabewe

With the tremendous pace that Zimdancehall Musical Scene is taking more talent is coming up and the level is extremely impressive that within five years it would not be a surprise if we will have at least one star being invited to Big stages like the Big Festivals in Jamaica to play and rub shoulders with the like of Bounty and Movados of the world. As we speak Centre Party is making waves on the Underground scene in Jamaica and King Labash in Cyprus not to forget Winky D who is touring all over which is a reason to celebrated not hate the progress which they have archived which means it will only get better to those coming up. So with Trinidard Studios being one stable with talents not to be ignored, I'm sure we will see many International Level of selling stars at an international level with the like of Creation, Ricky Peplex and Qounfused who we managed to get hold of and see what makes this promising talent tick.

Name: McDonald Sheldon      D.O.B -05/06/93        Birth Place - Harare

What does Qounfuzed mean
The name QOUNFUZED means STYLE VERSATILITY!!

1)So what inspired you start recording.
Well I just grew up in family where people always liked music but none of my family members had any music history or background. We would to listen to the music of big all time musicians like UB40 & MICHAEL JACKSON and this really contributed to me getting involved with music because I later on discovered the skill.

2.When did you start recording professionally
I started recording professionally as an urban grooves artist at TRACK RECORDS in Harare in 2008 and in that same year that’s when I met up with many other different producers e.g. GAANWID who I am currently working with right now under his TRINIDAD STUDIOS music stable.

3.Where does you inspiration come from
Music changes and differs each and every day, the more the new artists up rise the more the music changes and varies with a different a feel and vibe altogether. So sometimes It is hard to pick or choose the exact sources where I get my music influence or inspiration from but all I can say is that I get influenced by many artists both old and new local and international…At the moment I think WINKY D has set the real music pace that needs to be followed by most musicians in the Zimbabwean Dancehall industry if not the Zimbabwe music industry. I get my inspiration from artists that have always been there in the music circles way before I even started, I get some of my inspiration from artists like KIBAKI,I-OCTANE,STEIN AND BRAMMA….I am also inspired by “Life Stories” and that’s the title of my next single coming out soon.. When writing most of my songs I just meditate on a title and start to work from there and whenever I get an instrumental which suits that particular title and work.

4. What has been your Biggest Challenges so far and how have you over come it.
So far my biggest challenge is radio Air-play.

5.What is your hit single.
My hit single is “Things you make me do” featuring EPHY K

6. How do you see the music industry growing and what things would you like to see that would make life better for upcoming artist like yourself?
More air play, love and respect in the music industry. Old artists should respect and consider new upcoming artists because they are the future and upcoming artists too should follow their leader’s steps and that way I think the industry will grow.

7.Do you work with other artist ? If you would work with one artist locally and international who would it be?
At the moment I’m only working with artists from TRINIDAD but am planning to work with other big names in the Zimbabwe music industry.

8.How big do you wanna be?
I want to be able to perform and work internationally with big names in the industry worldwide.

9. What is your favorite riddim locally? Do you feel this is the best ever for you.
My best RIDDIM is the MUXIMUM RIDDIM by GAANWID and yes locally I feel it’s the best so far.

10.What was it like when you first ever performed at a show.
It was more of a bumpy ride the stage fright and being nervous and all, I forgot some of my lyrics then I had to tell the d j to “Pulloohh” (Rewind) the song thanks to dancehall [Laugh Out Loud].

11. What should people expect on your next album and when is it coming up.
Not ready to release any album just yet but expect more of the singles and live performances.

12.Where can people get your album and any video .
People can get my singles on www.youtube.com./user/qounfuzed,  www.soundcloud.com/gaanwid and on www.souncloud.com/qounfuzed

13.Your favorite book ? and writer as well.
BHINDAUKO by J.C KUMBIRAI

14.What scares you most and how do you deal with those fears
I can’t say I fear women but I don’t trust women… [Laugh out Loud] I’m still on a mission of studying women.

15. What has been the most valuable advice you have been given in your life and what is your philosophy in life as well.
Shgh

16.What’s on your ipod.
Soft rock and Soft contemporary music AVRIL LAVIGNE & VICTOR KUNONGA with a few local dancehall instrumentals to be recorded soon.

17.Most inspirational person?
My mother, she is such a hard working woman.

18. Tell us something people don’t know about u , other talents.
. Apart from being a musician I’m also into Fashion and video shooting am part of the crew on an action packed drama series “Go Chanaiwa Go” screening on national TV currently.

19.What are you proud of and what do you regret.
I’m proud of everything that God made me be.

Mistaken Identiti – The Debut Album from Peppery

Released from the confines of a Salt ‘n’ pepper shaker crafted in
Manchester by a Jamaican potter comes the fiery sound of Peppery on
his ‘debut’ album, ‘Mistaken Identiti’. Originally conceptualised by
Mexican and overseen by Fitzroy ‘Heavy’ Nish of Phattrock
Entertainment, the 16 track set will be launched at the Power House in
Manchester, UK, on the 19th of August 2011 at an event also marking
the launch of Sickle Cell Care Manchester.

Born Clayton Brown in Trelawny, Jamaica, Peppery first started his
career as Bongo Chilli releasing the album, ‘Real Musician’ on Sativa
Records in 2007. Shows around England and the rest of Europe followed
with an assortment of collaborators including his mentor, Daddy Freddy as
well as Celt Islam, Kush Arora and others.

With contributions from Daddy Freddy and Ras Tweed, ‘Mistaken
Identiti’ is a mixture of Dancehall, traditional Roots Reggae and
“Alternative” music with the backing tracks incorporating both live
instrumentation and digital programming. Previously released tracks
that have already received favourable airplay include ‘The Score’ and
‘Clap Your Hands’. Come 2011 and his catchphrase “Peppery” has now
become Bongo’s second name prompting a change to the entity
Peppery aka Bongo Chilli. So Peppery’s debut is actually Clayton’s
second album – confused? Don’t be, just savour the Peppery
flavours when you press play.

The album’s title track may be deemed controversial by some as the
subject is the pain caused to the family and friends of loved ones who
have lost their lives violently. “Let it be known for the record that
I am in no way encouraging anyone to take the law into their own hands
& seek revenge” says Peppery asserting, “I am merely highlighting the
fact that many people have been killed innocently.”

Producers on the project include the aforementioned Mexican of Gone
Music, Ganzi of Classiqueinc, Damalistik of Roots Survival Records,
Rob of Big Belly Records and DJ Afghan of Soulove Records.

The album will be launched in the UK as a limited edition CD on
Peppery’s own record label Bongo Chilli Records but the rest of the
world will have to wait a little longer before it will eventually
surface in their local outlets. On the other hand, those who shop
online will be able to purchase the CD directly from the source. Join
the Facebook group “Peppery” to find out how or send your queries to clayton.bongochilli@gmail.com

New Release from ARCANOVI RECORDS- MC Mighty - Album “Move to da Beat”

Now Available on Itunes  MC Mighty Album "Move To Da Beat"
MC Mighty
Born in Harare , Mc Mighty had a huge interest in music listening to different genres. Growing up he developed a strong passion for Dancehall and Reggae music which became the influences for his musical style.

Mc Mighty started getting involved in music professionally in 1999 when he was in a group called” NEW VISION” .This was his turning point as he began to enjoy music from an artist’s point of view due to the various performances the group had. The group grew in strength as they toured around most of the country. The group recorded their first Album in 2000. From that point onwards writing songs became his passion.
Unfortunately a few weeks after recording he had to leave Zimbabwe for Dublin hence he did not get the opportunity to witness the success of the album first hand.A few Months after his arrival in Dublin , Mighty met up with a group of young Hip Hop MCs who were free styling to a mellow beat at a home studio in Capel Street, Dublin. He decided to just go with the flow and started to rap on it .

The audience in the studio was impressed by and asked him to feature on a Hip Hop song they were recording called Sons of Jah. He accepted their offer and wrote his first ever 12 bars for this collaboration which people loved.

After that experience he ventured a bit more and featured on more songs with the Lads. During this time he worked on collaborations with other Hip Hop Mcs in Dublin as well. His confidence, style, flow improved as he was working with different artists and being exposed to different styles as well as techniques. He then got an offer to join the lads he had met initially and they started a group which they called the “Geneseas”. They performed around Dublin in most pubs and night clubs and were the main act of every gig we went to.

He was with the “Geneseas” for 3 years and during this time they produced one album which was a success. A little while after the release of the Album in 2006 the “Geneseas” split up. During his time with the Geneseas, MC Mighty met Laidback, a producer who had made a few instrumentals for the ‘Geneseas’ and they got along very well .After the split, Laidback and MC Mighty decided to work on an album together. The album would be would be a mix of Hip hop and dancehall but with more of a dancehall feel to it. The instrumentals Laidback came up with were incredible and MC Mighty wrote lyrics to match.

Here he is now .Having finished his first album (“Move to da Beat”) as an independent Dancehall- World music Artist which was released in both Ireland and Zimbabwe. This album is said to have been a big challenge as he was bringing a totally new genre and flavour which is a blend of sunny vibes mixed with a unique refreshing flow. MC Mighty is still on his musical journey, and is rumoured to be working on a second album.
