Jeck Pilpil born February 14, 1977 in Manila, Philippines. Singer/Songwriter, musician started playing Reggae music with Peacepipe since 2002. An award winning artiste, Ras Madedo hails from the beautiful African Country of Kenya, winner of the 2009/2010 Best Reggae/Ragga Artiste of the Year in the Kenya Coast Music Awards .

His musical career started in 2004 as a singer in a local band in the Coastal City of Mombasa. doing many stage shows at several hotels, beaches and local clubs.

In 2007, he performed at The Second Annual East Africa Reggae Fest performing along side The late Mighty King-Kong ; and in the same year he performed along-side Israel vibrations Apple Gabriel. He has also performed together with big names like Teddy Dan, Stargate Family and recently, Gyptian during his Kenyan Tour.

Ras Madedo first album title “What’s Going Wrong” tells the story of love gain and love lost, the struggle of the poor and downhearted, of friendship and of freedom. 1. What is the meaning of your name? {group if applicable}:

"Ras" means 'Head or king or even prince' which is amharic word for Ethiopia,
"Madedo" is my birth name which means 'words' from Taita language from the coast province of Kenya E.Africa.

2. What does your music bring to the reggae genre?
My music brings in the aspect of diversity, since everyone in the world knows reggae comes only from Jamaica. This is to say or perfect the fact that, when the tree grows big n big, well, even its roots stratches further and further so I and I a deh roots. I still bring in the real culture of Africa since me a real Africa and thus keeping it Africa.

3. Who influenced you? And what is your motivation?.
I am a big Fun of Bob marley, Lucky Dube and Steel Pulse so I want to believe dat they are the force behind my music and I can't lie to you my motivation is the day to day challenges I pass through and that they bring  with then, you can even get it in my music Seen.

4. What do you see as the future of reggae and music in general?
I'm afriad we might not be trouding on road our father had wished we to move on, but this might be because of the mixed cultures or the worked of mistry babylon, but still certained that time will tell, Jah will take it over soon, sellah!

5. Playing or recording what do you prefer?

I prefer both playing and recording though I do recording alone.

6. Please tell the folks what you would like them to know.

They should  know that am the fourth in the family of seven, mother(Beatrice) father(Norman) and Four siblings, 1st born(Gibson) 2nd(Bornface) 3rd(Ruth) 4th(Me) and last born (Abdi).

I come for the ghettos of Kisauni,Mwandoni. Also Educated. I like our traditional food called Ugali(cooked maize flour) and Munyinya (beater herbs) and chapati(fryed mold white flour) and maharagwe(beans).

Lidanjam born 16th Aug on a small town called Thika on the outskirts of Capital City Nairobi Kenya.

While still in high school he started writing lyrics by listening to reggae music, at the time Don Carlos a (Reggae living Legend) was the main inspiration to Lidanjam realizing his potential in Music. He could listen, sing along to Don Carlos`s music and write down the lyrics at the age of 18 he could compose his own lyrics and sing.

Lidanjam`s style could be defined as experimental reggae for his ability to synchronize reggae music with other genre i.e. rock, hip hop, r&b and more.

Lidanjam is also into art in form of painting and Drawing ‘art is in my blood’ as he would put it.

”Fives years from today, I hope to have a achieved my college degree in Pharmacy. As a qualified Pharmacist, my goal is to serve as a liaison between the United States and other African countries by supplying appropriate drugs to help those suffering from Breast and Cervical Cancer, Diabetes, Water Borne Disease, and the HIV Virus.”

Fives years from now, I hope to have published my book titled: The Africa Rhymes – a collection of stories and life experience from the children of the Alice Fominyam Orphanage. I hope to chronicle in the book the experiences of children growing up in an orphanage. There challenges, struggles and ultimate triumphs, going from children nobody wants and children that are forgotten to becoming successful and positive contributors to the society. The orphans at the Alice Fominyam Orphanage have a story, and my goal is to share there profound stories with the world.”

My goal is that fives years from now the traditional practice of breast ironing would have been made illegal and completely eradicated, as a result of the alliance between my organization FABIC (Fight Against Breast Ironing in Cameroon) and other organizations such as the National Network of Association of Aunties, who have come together to fight against this inhumane practice."

My hobbies are teaching young minds about how good God is and cleaning. I enjoy going to church and teaching the youth about the different departments they are able to join. For me going to church is an expression of my faith that has also become a hobby because I do it all the time, I love it, and most of all I believe it. Another hobby that I have is cleaning. I love cleaning because I like to leave in an orderly and tidy environment. THE MAN BEHIND THE CLOTHING LABEL:
I burst in to existence on December the 13th 1980 in MUTARE, ZIMBABWE. I was born with passion for different arts, but never really thought about doing anything until a year ago (2008).

BACKGROUND OF BLACKARMOOR:
It came about late 2008. I was chilling at work one day and was just drawing SEAN JOHN designs and I had a EUREKA moment and asked myself instead of wearing somebody else's clothing why don't I just do my own T shirts i can wear for my self. Then I met Terrie Gunz the CEO of KUNTA KINTE CLOTHING and he gave advice on how to develop my label. So you can say I'm his protege if you like. At this point I was just doing it for myself and I got myself a few T shirts printed and the response I got was phenomenal and I thought to myself why not do this the proper way.

THE NAME (BLACKARMOOR)
The MOORS were people from the Motherland who did a lot of wonderful things in terms of architecture and other great things. These people were intelligent but their legacy was clouded by historical inconsistencies. The ROOT of all peoples is ONE. Hence BLACKARMOOR, so we are saying where ever you come from you are intelligent in your own way, let no one make you believe otherwise because you are a MOOR. The tree on the label represents MUTI USINA ZITA ( A TREE WITHOUT NAME) which used to give our ancestors different foods hence they could not give it a proper name because it gave different foods according to what they asked. Hence you can not really tell what tree it is although its an AFRICAN TREE, so the tree that gave food also granted life and intelligence. Its the same with our human minds you get what you ask from it, if you ask for love you get love, if you ask for hate you get hatred, if you ask to be a wonderful human being you will be one two.

Two dimensional MOTHERLAND/ MY OTHER LAND has a pregnant woman. You can tell its about to be born and that means its our time yes our time for you and me to bring our positive ideas to the world. At the same time its saying MY OTHER LAND/ MOTHERLAND acknowledging HUMAN ROOTS.

We are working with people from all over the GLOBE, AFRICA, USA, EUROPE and big celebrities are coming on board as well (NAMES CONFIRMED). Musicians have been wearing our clothing lines for their video shoots as well and more to come. We have worked with Zimdancehall artist i.e Jusa dementor (africanairhorndance.com), and will be working with DUBBIE BENZ, KUDZI KU, SNAKA DREAD, SNIPER STORM, WINKY D, SIMPLE DREAD and MACCIX FLO (watch out for his designs),just to mention a few.
