It is now official Zimdancehall is getting recognition worth the while. With our talented youths getting air play on BBC xtra, Winky D touring lands afar and from when King Labash had a hit busting on Jamaica streets with his single (Pen and Paper).
Another artist has set the Jamaica streets alight on the The Best Reggae\Dancehall charts in the streets of Jamaica, Stampede Street Charts has named Centre Party from Zimbabwe as the new "Artist to Watch" (June 6, 2011) Charting what's hot in the streets of Jamaica, Stampede Street Chart is followed and recognized across the world in places like Canada , Europe, Japan, The USA, Africa and The Caribbean .The Chart is also featured on several music related websites and radio stations .
With Play time on our National Station being tight and those with money are able to give Deejays cash to have their songs played, Centre Party is proving that talent and determination will lead you to get your dream as he is making waves in the Caribbean with his hit single Mhando Yepamusoro.
Centre Party has a distinct voice which makes him very very interesting . Another song that is interesting is one titled African Queen where he show
he got a distinct flow to be reckoned with, which made him get noticed and
got a deal with Arcanovi Management.
We managed to get hold of him and see what makes him tick.
Emerging out of the African Country of Zimbabwe, Centre Party is giving the world of Zimdancehall an unexpected surprise, he is over taking the industry as a storm to be reckon with. Born Felix Debwe in Mutare, he now lives in Bulawayo, Reggae music has always been apart of Centre Party’s life as he have been doing this for many years now. With the break out Hit of the Year Mhando Yepamusoro, Centre Party is enjoying the fruits of his labour and hard work and is on his way to becoming the next big artiste to come out of Zimbabwe.
Now under ARCANOVI Management, Records & Publishing Co., Centre Party is catching the eyes of many Caribbean Artiste whom have expressed a strong interest in working with him. There is a new album and videos in the works. It is Centre Party’s dream to be a International Reggae Artist.
1) How did you get involved in music ?
In the 6th grade through public speaking and poetry reading, I began to convert my poems into songs.
2) Who are some of your influences?
Lucky Dube, Beenie man, Bob Marley, Black Scopion
3) How do you write your songs and where do your inspiration come from?
My surroundings, events in my life and in the society
4) What has been your challenges in your career so far and how have you over come them?
Marketing and Air play, I am still maneuvering to over come and we don’t give up.
5) How did the hit single Mhando Yepamusoro come about?
I was inspired by our African women, they are just art and deserve to be mentioned and honored
6) How do you see the music industry growing and what things would you like to see that would make life better for upcoming artist like yourself?
Its growing fast but not as fast as I would want it, there is still a major stumbling block when it comes to marketing and radio play, If we get more independent radio stations to air our music, I think the scenario would change quicker.
7)Do you work with other artist ? If you would work with one artist locally and international who would it be?
Yes, I work with Mic-a-Blaze, I can work with any dedicated artist, internationally it would have to be Busy Signal, and locally it would be Thomas Mapfumo,
8) How big do you wanna be?
Grow so big and blow up the international scene...the sky is not even a limit.
9) What is your favorite riddim locally? Do you feel this is the best ever for you?
Jeepmock Riddim. yes I think its a wicked tune,
10) What was it like when you first ever performed at a show?
I was ecstatic at the Mutare Agric Show, I was overwhelmed with passion as many people where looking at me and I felt like a star.
11) What should people expect on your next album and when is it coming up?
Fireworks as usual I can’t offer anything less, the album will drop end of June, a scorcher for the winter

Practise makes perfect and my philosophy is victory comes through practise and tenacity, unwavering dedication.
